Cheesing

Last week, I walked into the living room hearing Annaliese saying "Cheese... Cheese..." and wondered if Andy was taking a picture of her. Instead I found her posing behind Titus' swing (similar to her stance above) without anyone around. When I asked her what she was doing, she said, "I'm cheesing." I had to laugh, but then I thought my little (almost) 2-year-old is pretty smart to be able to manipulate language and create her own verb. Since "cheese" is what she says when she is posing for a picture, "cheesing" must be what she is doing! Can't believe she'll be 2 tomorrow!

This Will Definitely Make Your Day Better...

And probably get you to smile from ear to ear!

The future Dr. Dollahite

Tonight Andy came home after a full day at school, had dinner with us, and returned to school to study with a group for a few hours since they have a test on Monday. He'll be studying all weekend as well. I can't tell you how incredibly demanding medical school is. It is different than most other graduate programs from what I can gather. There is so much intensive lecture information, aside from required reading including concepts and history, as well as hands-on lab knowledge.

All in all, Andy juggles it all with joy, coming home to an often frazzled wife and two kids who are sometimes both screaming (although not always) during his "break" time. For that I am thankful. It is a hard season for both of us right now, but I am glad to know that through it all we have each other and the Lord on whom we rely.

Fortunately he loves it, which is an encouragement to us all... so much in fact, he includes interesting medical information in his blog, Hidden in a Field. How does he find the time, folks? Beats me!

P.S. Isn't he lookin' good in that white coat and scrubs!?!

Brother & Sister

Not surprisingly, Annaliese LOVES her little brother Titus.

She tries to comfort him when he's crying with blankets, burp cloths or a paci and says, "It's okay, Titus! Don't cry, baby!" (Yes, this was when he was just born, we did not have the pack'n'play bassinet set up yet, and it was 113F and we had to flee our L.A. house without A/C to my parents' house!)

She also tries to share her prized measuring cups with him.

She was trying to position his fingers and teach him "Fight On," the USC motto in which you hold up two fingers, but when I pulled out the camera she stopped of course. Still it is precious to hear her say his name.

The past few days, she has shared her cold with him unfortunately even though I tried to keep her from touching him. *Sigh* Well, I'm glad she is generally really gentle with him and hasn't been acting too jealous. I hope they'll be good friends as they grow up together.

Titus James

Titus James
Sept. 24, 2010 at 2:43 am
7 pounds 12 ounces, 20 inches

Titus means "defender" & James for his father (Andy's real name is James Anderson)

We praise God for this joyful gift of our son! More details to come, but just had to get a picture up of our son (already 2 weeks old)!
