I've been absent from this blog for over 6 six years!!!! But I've decided to come back. I don't know for how long, but here I am! I have to say, it has been fun for us to look back at what I wrote about family life back when we were a family of 3, then 4, before and during medical school in central and southern California. Since my last post, we've had two more kids, Andy has finished medical school, we've moved to Cedar Crest, New Mexico, where Andy is in the 5th and final year of orthopedic residency. God has brought us through far too many joys and trials to tell here, but I will mainly try to tell about our life now since we have yet another big and beautiful life change coming up... the adoption of little Stephen from South Korea!
Before telling more about our adoption, here's a snip of life from swim lessons today. Incredibly, our little girl Annaliese is a big 9-year-old, going in to fourth grade. She's a wonderful artist, thoughtful card-maker, audio-book-lover, and Mama's helper.
Titus is now a kind, strong, yet gentle, kid who loves to ride bikes, climb trees, and play soccer. He's going in to second grade and will turn 8 in a couple months. Titus and Annaliese are currently learning back stroke in swim lessons this year.
Ezekiel was added to our family 5 1/2 years ago, and we have hardly stopped laughing at his goofy antics ever since. He is an animal lover/charmer, and will find any bugs, snakes, or furry animals in the neighborhood to whom he can show some love. He is ecstatic to begin kindergarten next month! He just learned how to swim on his own this summer so he'll enjoy growing in that confidence over these next two weeks.
Carys (rhymes with Paris) was our little Christmas present, born in NM, 3 1/2 years ago. She is very tender-hearted, naturally loves to do whatever her older sister and brothers are doing, likes the water, but not being splashed in the face, and theoretically is very excited to be a big sister in the next couple of months. More on that subject next time!!
